POEM - COMING HOME

That pause, weighted,
Expectant, both waiting
With bated breath for the moment,
That moment
Where our gaze, that gaze where
We slowly drink each other in,
Savour each other slowly, saying
Without words what we want,
Eyes seeking, thirsty,
Breath quickening, heavy,
Hands reaching, searching,
Finding each other
While we lose our senses
Lose everything
But the urgent certainty
That leads us back to ourselves.
